Manchester Tile Art: Hacienda, Oasis and Football Legends on Ceramic

Manchester runs on music, football, and attitude. The city that gave the world Joy Division, Oasis, two of the biggest football clubs on the planet, and a nightclub that changed British culture forever deserves art that matches its energy.

Our Manchester Collection is a set of premium ceramic tiles, each celebrating a defining moment, icon, or institution from the city's history. UV printed for lasting colour and quality, they are designed to hang on a wall, sit on a shelf, or lean against a stack of records. Every tile is £25 and built to last.

The Music

Hacienda Nightlife Tile — £25.00

FAC 51. The Hacienda on Whitworth Street was not just a nightclub — it was the birthplace of acid house and rave culture in the UK. From New Order funding it through Factory Records to 808 State and the Madchester explosion, what happened inside those walls between 1982 and 1997 reshaped British music permanently.

This tile captures the spirit of those nights. It belongs on the wall of anyone who was there, anyone who wishes they had been, or anyone who understands why Manchester's music scene matters.

Happy Mondays Our Kid Tile — £25.00

Shaun Ryder and the Happy Mondays were the sound of Madchester at its most chaotic and brilliant. Baggy jeans, Bez's dancing, and tunes that blurred the line between indie and dance music. This tile captures the band in their prime — a piece of 90s nostalgia for anyone who lived through the era or discovered it since.

Liam Gallagher Tile — £25.00

The swagger. The voice. The parka. Liam Gallagher is Manchester's most recognisable musical export, and this tile captures everything that makes him iconic. From Definitely Maybe through to sold-out stadiums decades later, the man has not changed — and that is exactly the point.

As you were.

The Football

United 99 Treble Winners Tile — £25.00

The 1998-99 season is the greatest in English football history. Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League — all in one campaign. From Sheringham's equaliser to Solskjaer's winner at Camp Nou, the Treble season had moments that still raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

This tile is essential for any Red Devils supporter's wall. It commemorates a season that has never been repeated and probably never will be.

Maine Road MCFC Tile — £25.00

Before the Etihad, there was Maine Road. Manchester City's home from 1923 to 2003 in the heart of Moss Side. Colin Bell, Shaun Goater, and eighty years of memories packed into a ground that felt like it belonged to the neighbourhood.

This tile is for City fans who remember the Kippax, for football historians, and for anyone who believes the best stadiums are the ones with stories in every brick.

The Culture

1990 Strangeways Riot Tile — £25.00

Twenty-five days in April 1990 that changed the British prison system. The Strangeways riot was dramatic, controversial, and ultimately pivotal — it led to the Woolf Report and genuine reform. This bold artwork captures the defiance and drama of those weeks. A conversation piece for history buffs and anyone who knows Manchester's story goes deeper than music and football.

Ford Cossie Manchester Tile — £25.00

The Ford Sierra Cosworth was Manchester's ultimate status symbol in the late 80s and early 90s. The roar of that turbo was the soundtrack to a thousand stories. This tile celebrates the Cossie in all its glory — twin-turbo nostalgia for petrolheads and 90s enthusiasts.

Free The Weatherfield One Tile — £25.00

Coronation Street's Deirdre Barlow was wrongly imprisoned and Manchester mobilised. The 1998 "Free the Weatherfield One" campaign blurred the line between fiction and reality in a way only Manchester could pull off. This tile celebrates the moment a soap opera character united a city.

How to Display Them

These tiles work individually as statement pieces or grouped together as a gallery wall. A few ideas:

  • Music wall: Hacienda + Happy Mondays + Liam Gallagher — three tiles that tell the story of Manchester's musical golden era
  • Football pair: United 99 + Maine Road — both sides of the city represented
  • Full collection: All eight tiles arranged in a grid for the ultimate Manchester wall display. At £25 each, the complete set is £200 — and it covers music, football, cars, history, and television

Each tile hangs easily with a picture hook or 3M adhesive strip. The ceramic surface is durable and easy to clean — UV printing does not fade or peel.

Delivery and Returns

All tiles are produced within 1-2 business days and shipped via standard delivery in 3-5 business days from dispatch. Standard delivery is free on orders over £75 (two tiles qualifies), or £4.95 for single tile orders.

As all products are made to order, we are unable to offer refunds or returns. If your tile arrives damaged or defective, contact us with photos and we will replace it or issue a full refund.

Own a Piece of Manchester

These are not generic city prints from a tourist shop. Each tile in the Manchester Collection celebrates a specific moment or icon with artwork designed to capture the energy and attitude of the city. Hang one on your wall and you are making a statement about what Manchester means to you.
