"Delivery: 3-5 days" is the number most people plan around, and it is the number most likely to make them late.

That figure describes the courier's journey, not the gift's. A personalised item has to be made before anything can be posted, and that stage is invisible on most product pages. Here is the full timeline, broken into the parts that actually take time.

The Three Stages

1. Production: 1-2 business days

Your item does not exist when you order it. This is the stage where it gets made — the engraving is cut, the photo is printed onto acrylic, the plaque is assembled, the ball is passed through the printer.

One to two business days is the honest range. Simple text personalisation on a small item tends toward one day; a photo product with an assembly step tends toward two.

Nothing ships during this window, and weekends do not count toward it. An order placed on Friday afternoon effectively starts production on Monday.

2. Dispatch

The handover point. This is when the item leaves us and the courier's clock starts — and it is the moment every delivery estimate is measured from. When a page says "3-5 business days", it means three to five days from here, not from when you clicked buy.

3. Delivery: 3-5 business days from dispatch

Standard delivery is the only UK service we offer. There is no express tier, no next-day option and no Saturday service, so this window is fixed. Paying more does not move it, because there is nothing faster to pay for.

Total, order to doorstep: 4 to 7 business days.

What That Means in Real Days

Business days are the detail that catches people out. Seven business days is nearly a fortnight on a calendar once two weekends are in the way.

What Actually Slows Things Down

Production is rarely the bottleneck. In practice, the delays come from the order itself.

A photo that will not work. Image quality is the single most common cause of a held order. Photo gifts need real resolution — golf balls take a minimum of 600x600px, everything else 1200x1200px, up to 10MB, as JPEG, PNG or WebP. A picture pulled from a social media app or a group chat has usually been compressed well below that. It looks fine on a phone and prints soft.

Personalisation that needs checking. A name with an unusual spelling, a date in an ambiguous format, a message that overruns the engraving area. These get queried rather than guessed at, and a query costs however long it takes you to reply.

Ordering at the end of the week. Not a delay so much as arithmetic, but it is worth understanding: Friday and Saturday orders lose the weekend before production even begins.

How to Make It Faster

You cannot buy a faster delivery, but you can remove the friction that adds days.

Use a proper photo. Go to the original file rather than a forwarded copy. Check it comfortably clears the minimum resolution before you upload it.
Check the spelling yourself. Names, especially. We produce what is submitted, and personalised items cannot be returned or refunded for a change of mind — only replaced or refunded if they arrive damaged or defective.
Order early in the week. A Monday or Tuesday order gets a clean run at both stages.
Consolidate. One order of several gifts moves through production together, and clears the £75 threshold for free standard delivery rather than paying £4.95 more than once.

Does Anything Take Longer?

International orders do: 7-14 business days for delivery, with rates calculated at checkout. Add the production stage on top of that.

Within the UK, the 4-7 business day window covers the range — a sleeve of custom golf balls and an engraved wedge go through the same two stages. The wedge is a more considered purchase, but it is not a slower one.
