Display Your Pet's Best Photos on a 25mm Acrylic Photo Block

Every pet owner has that one photo. The one where your Labrador is mid-zoomie across the garden, or your Cocker Spaniel is giving you the look that means dinner is five minutes late. Maybe it is your French Bulldog sprawled across the sofa like they own the place — because they do.

Those photos deserve more than a phone gallery. Our 25mm Acrylic Photo Blocks turn your favourite pet portrait into a crystal-clear freestanding display that catches the light from every angle. No frame, no stand, no fuss — just your pet looking their absolute best on your desk, shelf, or bedside table.

Why Acrylic Photo Blocks Work So Well for Pet Photos

The Depth Makes Fur Look Incredible

A flat print cannot capture the texture of a Golden Retriever's coat or the fine markings on a Bengal cat's face the way 25 millimetres of optical-grade acrylic can. The thickness creates a dimensional effect — your pet's photo appears to float inside the block, with light refracting through the polished edges to produce a subtle glow. Dark fur picks up highlights you never noticed. Bright eyes pop with an almost three-dimensional quality.

It is the difference between looking at a photo and looking into one.

UV Printing Keeps Colours True

Your Dachshund's rich chocolate coat, the ice-blue eyes on a Siberian Husky, the ginger and white patches on your tabby — colour accuracy matters when the whole point is capturing your pet exactly as they are. Our UV printing bonds ink permanently to the acrylic surface, producing sharper detail and more vibrant colours than standard photo prints. No fading, no yellowing, no moisture damage. The image is part of the block itself.

Freestanding — No Wall Required

Unlike framed prints, our acrylic blocks stand on their own. The flat base means you can place them anywhere: a living room shelf, a home office desk, a hallway console table, or a bedside unit. Move them around, group several together, or let a single block be the focal point. No nails, no hooks, no damage to your walls.

Which Photos Work Best

Action Shots

A Border Collie mid-leap catching a ball. A Springer Spaniel bursting through autumn leaves. A Staffordshire Bull Terrier tearing across the beach. Action shots work brilliantly on acrylic because the depth gives movement a sense of frozen energy.

Close-Up Portraits

The classic head-and-shoulders portrait is where acrylic blocks really shine. A German Shepherd's alert expression, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel tilting their head, a Pug with that unmistakable wrinkled face. The UV printing picks up every whisker, every freckle on a nose, every fleck of colour in their eyes.

Candid Moments

Your Beagle asleep in a sunbeam. A Ragdoll cat draped across a keyboard. Two Miniature Schnauzers sharing a blanket. The photos that make you smile every time — those are the ones worth displaying.

Memorial Photos

For pets who are no longer with us, an acrylic photo block is a beautiful way to keep their memory visible. The weight and quality of the block gives the image a permanence that feels right. Many of our customers choose their pet's favourite spot in the house as the place to display the block — a quiet, lasting tribute.

Photo Tips for the Best Result

Getting a great pet photo onto an acrylic block starts with a decent image. You do not need a professional camera — a modern phone works perfectly. Here are a few pointers:

  • Natural light is king. Photograph your pet near a window or outdoors. Avoid flash — it creates red-eye and washes out fur colour.
  • Get on their level. Crouch or lie down so the camera is at your pet's eye level. It makes the portrait feel more personal and connected.
  • Resolution matters. Our minimum is 600 x 600 pixels, but the higher the resolution the sharper the final print. Most phone photos are well above this.
  • Leave some space around the edges. The print goes edge-to-edge, so make sure your pet's ears and nose are not right at the border of the image.
  • Busy backgrounds are fine. The acrylic block crops to a clean rectangle, so even if the background is cluttered, the finished product looks polished.

Gift Ideas for Dog and Cat Owners

Birthday Gift for a Dog Lover

A Cockapoo owner's birthday is sorted with a 100 x 100mm block of their best friend on their desk. Wrap it in tissue paper and let the block speak for itself — no one expects a photo gift to have this much presence.

New Puppy Keepsake

Just brought home a Labrador Retriever puppy, a Miniature Dachshund, or a Shih Tzu? Capture those first few weeks before they triple in size. A small acrylic block of a puppy asleep in your hand is the kind of thing you will treasure for decades.

Pet Memorial

For someone who has recently lost a pet, a thoughtful acrylic block with their companion's photo can mean a great deal. The solid weight and clarity of the display gives the memory a sense of permanence that a paper print cannot match.

Multi-Pet Households

Have a Whippet and a Maine Coon who are unlikely best friends? A group photo on the larger 200 x 150mm block captures the whole crew. Or order individual blocks for each pet and display them together — a little family gallery on a shelf.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a photo from my phone? Absolutely. Any JPEG, PNG, or WebP image above 600 x 600 pixels will work. Most modern phone photos are several thousand pixels wide, so you are well covered.

Will dark photos print well? UV printing handles shadows and dark tones better than most print methods. A black Labrador or dark Rottweiler will still show detail and texture. That said, photos with some contrast between your pet and the background always look best.

Can I include text? Yes — our personalisation tool lets you add names, dates, or short messages to the design before printing.

How do I clean the block? A soft microfibre cloth and a little water is all you need. No chemicals, no special cleaners. The UV print is bonded to the surface, so normal handling will not damage it.

Is the image on one side or both? The image is printed on the front face. The back and edges are clear polished acrylic, which is what creates the light-catching effect.
